Oh the pain of living in L.A. ...

I was informed today that one of my favorite bands, Opeth, will be touring the US and stopping in Hollywood on October 10. Which is awesome, I can't wait to go see them. Their new album kicks ass.

What sucks is that on that same night, Stratovarius will be playing at the Key Club. I was planning to go to that one, and was getting ready to buy tickets, so it's a good thing I didn't. This European power-metal band has never toured the US before as far as I know, and while I like them, they're no match for Opeth. So I guess since I have to choose I'll have to go with them. Now I just wish they had better coordinated the bookings of these bands in L.A.

In other news, I'm going to see the acoustic version of Marillion at the Key Club next week. It should be lots of fun, I really liked them on their last tour, and now I'm more familiar with their music. Also quite a few interesting upcoming shows at the Baked Potato. CAB was replaced by Frank Gambale, more Virgil Donati, etc.

Fall concert season is coming!
